Cocaine Addiction

Our Treatment Programs are crafted with a multi-disciplinary and medically guided approach that focuses on healing the patient. It is personalised based on the addictive substance(s) that the client is addicted to, their personal history, family history, circumstances that led to addiction, gender, physical health and other variables as at the time of admission. The Program is a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(CBT), Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy(REBT), 12 Step Program approved by the World Health Organization and Family Therapy.

Cocaine is a powerful central nervous system simulant and is usually sold in powdered or crystalline form. It can be smoked, sniffed or swallowed and when it enters the body it amends the chemical contents of the brain. Cocaine usually comes in powder form whereas Crack Cocaine is crystal form of cocaine. It is the most potent form of cocaine and is the riskiest form of the substance. Smoking crack cocaine brings an intense and immediate high that is short-lived.

Treatment for cocaine addiction is complex as it involves chemical changes to the brain and external factors related to social, occupational, interpersonal and environmental problems. An appropriate contingency management system facilitates treatment for addiction to cocaine. At Phoenix, we help clients with their addiction to cocaine through both residential and out-patient care. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is employed in helping individuals abstain from cocaine and preventing a relapse. Furthermore, we use the 12 Step Program as per WHO and a community based, group recovery approach to treat cocaine addiction. Our team of experts are also specialised to carry out dual diagnosis for co-occurring mental disorders that form a part of the addiction. At Phoenix, we believe that family is an essential part of long-term recovery and hence family counselling is a part of our recovery process. By helping addicts be understood and supported during their recovery, we help build an effective support system that not only help them with their sobriety but also helps prevent relapse.
