Heroin Addiction

Our Treatment Programs are crafted with a multi-disciplinary and medically guided approach that focuses on healing the patient. It is personalised based on the addictive substance(s) that the client is addicted to, their personal history, family history, circumstances that led to addiction, gender, physical health and other variables as at the time of admission. The Program is a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(CBT), Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy(REBT), 12 Step Program approved by the World Health Organization and Family Therapy.

Heroin is an opioid drug made from morphine which is a natural substance found in the seedpod of the Asian poppy plant. Miscarriages, heart infections, and death from overdose are major health problems caused by addiction to heroin.

At Phoenix, we begin our treatment for Heroin Addiction through Detox conducted by medical professionals that helps in flushing the body of drugs and relieving withdrawal symptoms thereby reducing medical complication. A treatment program that includes pharmacological options such as synthetic opiates like Methadone, Buprenorphine, Methadone and Subutex that are particularly useful in blocking the effects of heroin and controlling withdrawal symptoms along with psychotherapy is used to treat this type of addiction effectively. The In-patient program at our centre for Heroin Addiction is therapeutic and provides a drug-free environment for recovery. The program lasts 3-6 months and provides for effective long-term recovery.
