What is Hash Oil?
Hash oil, also known as honey oil or cannabis oil is the extraction of cannabis concentrate containing many of its resins and terpenes. It is one of the most popular avenues for consumption of Cannabis Concentrate It can be smoked, vaporized, eaten, or applied topically, depending on what type of hash oil.
Historically speaking, hashish use stretches back centuries, though the precise origin is unknown. It is believed to have been first created in Central Asia, as ancient Persians, Arabs, and Indians were considered as hashish users for generations. Given that observation, Hash Oil isn’t new to the world, but latest developments in solvent-based Cannabis extraction have changed the game of Hash oil consumption completely.
How do users consume Hash Oil?
You can find cannabis concentrates in hundreds of products right from weed oil cartridges to medicated muscle creams. There are four methods of Hash Oil consumption.
Smoking
An oil rig is a device like a traditional water pipe, or bong, which uses a heated element, usually titanium or quartz, to heat up the High CBD Hash Oil to a critical temperature. The oil is applied to this rig and is vaporized, channelled through water filtration for cooling, and inhaled by the user in a large concentration. This is the most preferred choice of consumption among the users for its high intensity effect though it induces cough.
Dabbing
Dabbing is the most popular way to consume cannabis concentrates by vaporizing the concentrate using a “dab rig.” This method involves heating of a “nail” (made from either glass, ceramic, or titanium) and then applying the concentrate directly onto the hot surface, instantly turning it into a vapor for consumption.
Vaping
Vaping is the most prudent and easy option for consuming cannabis concentrates. The most common form of vaping is a pre-filled cartridge that attaches to a battery. This cartridge contains a heating element that comes in contact with the battery and heats the concentrate when activated. This battery-and-cartridge combination is collectively referred to as a vape pen. Standard vape pens are operated by pressing a button or, in the case of a buttonless pen, simply taking a drag from the mouthpiece of the cartridge. These pre-filled cartridges aren’t refillable and are to be discarded after the concentrate runs out, but the battery can be saved and reused many times.
Handheld Vaporizer
Handheld vaporiser is the most discreet and portable way to use cannabis concentrate. A handheld vaporiser allows you to manually fill a chamber a concentrate of your choice and attach the chamber to the battery. And when you use a press button, the heating coil in the chamber heats the concentrate into vapor. This method does not require any additional equipment unlike a dab rig, but still gives you the ability to pre-fill the chamber with any type of concentrate and use it on demand.
Why is Hash so popular?
It has been observed that unlike other drugs like Cocaine, Hash makes the user drowsy but rarely causes any hallucinations. Therefore, it has become a popular social drug among the youth. The popular theory of how it is non-addictive, “safer than cigarettes”, and part of the “Indian spiritual tradition” presents itself in the favour of usage of the drug.
According to a research from Washington State, Hash is still on the radar of experienced cannabis consumers, representing 6% of the concentrate sales, with wax/shatter/resin claiming 55% of concentrate sales and representing the fastest growing product line.
But unfortunately, the medics and other staff who treated hundreds of cases of Hash abuse conclude otherwise. Frequent Hash abuse is shown that it often leads to behavioural abnormalities and memory damage.
